What does the Alfond Scholarship cover?

Rollins specifies full tuition, fees, a double room and a 15-swipe meal plan. The scholarship is renewable for three additional years. Its scholarship page says the total can include federal and state awards for which an individual student is already eligible. It does not promise to cover travel, personal expenses, books, health insurance or visa costs, so international applicants should budget for those separately unless their award letter confirms otherwise.

For renewal, Rollins lists a 3.33 GPA, completion of 24 credit hours each year, participation in its Honors Degree Program, and living on campus for four years. Scholars also take part in mentoring, a first-year service immersion course and an off-campus experience during the first three years.

Who can apply?

Rollins selects Alfond finalists from its incoming first-year College of Liberal Arts applicant pool. The official page explicitly includes international students and applicants who choose the test-optional route. Candidates must apply through Early Decision I or Early Action; the later Early Decision II and Regular Decision rounds are not the stated Alfond route.

Selection considers the whole academic record, curriculum and extracurricular activities. The college says qualifying candidates typically have GPAs above 3.8 and SAT scores above 1410 or ACT scores above 32. Its academic scholarship page says test-optional applicants with GPAs above 3.9 will be considered. These are selection indicators, not a guarantee of an award.

Deadline and application route

November 15, 2026 is the application deadline for the Early Decision I and Early Action routes used for Alfond consideration. Submit all required application materials by the scholarship deadline. Rollins does not state a cutoff hour or time zone on the cited pages.

Early Action is the nonbinding option. Early Decision I has its own commitment rules, so applicants should review those before choosing it. There is no separate scholarship application; Rollins considers eligible admission applicants automatically.

Required documents

  • Completed Rollins application or Common Application
  • Personal statement
  • Official secondary-school transcript
  • Academic recommendation from a teacher, counselor or another academic reference
  • SAT or ACT results only if submitted; test-optional applicants are considered
  • For international applicants, the free Non-U.S. Citizen Financial Aid Application provided in the applicant portal after submission
  • For applicants whose native language is not English, official TOEFL iBT, IELTS or Duolingo English Test results unless the requirement is waived

The general Rollins admissions page says the application has no fee. An Early Decision applicant has additional form and interview requirements; check the official international admission FAQ for that route.

English language tests

Rollins lists the following minimum scores for admission: TOEFL iBT 80 for exams taken before January 21, 2026, or 4.5 for exams taken after that date; IELTS 6.5; or Duolingo English Test 120. Rollins may waive proof through a qualifying SAT reading score or recent schooling in English for at least two years. Check its international FAQ for the exact score-submission method.
