About the 2026 Civil Protection Forum Youth Delegation

The 9th European Civil Protection Forum will take place in Brussels under the theme “Preparing today, ready for tomorrow.” The Youth Delegation will bring together 100 young people, combining participants nominated by Union Civil Protection Mechanism Member and Participating States with young people selected through the open call.

Selected youth participants will join dedicated workshops and interactive activities, engage with policymakers and practitioners, contribute ideas on preparedness and resilience, and help shape the Forum’s Youth Agenda.

What Funding Is Provided?

  • Travel costs within Europe reimbursed by DG ECHO for selected participants.
  • Accommodation for two nights, reimbursed at a flat rate of €168 per night.
  • Participation in the official Youth Delegation and Forum activities.

Who Can Apply?

  • Be 18–30 years old at the time of the event.
  • Live in an EU Member State or a Participating State of the Union Civil Protection Mechanism.
  • Eligible UCPM participating states listed in the call include Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Türkiye and Ukraine.
  • Have an interest or experience in civil protection, disaster risk management, preparedness, research and innovation, community resilience, volunteering, youth engagement, civil society or related areas.
  • Be available for the full Forum on 3–4 November 2026 and an online preparatory meeting in late October.
